How We Work

“Carts are a four letter word.”

By

I’ve heard this from clients more than once and I get it. With all of the sizes, parts, configurations, accessories and brands available they can be a daunting task. Adding to that, carts are often one of the last things procured in a redevelopment project. After years of planning, when deadlines loom and patience runs thin, I’m sure they often feel like an afterthought to many.

They shouldn’t be.

Carts aren’t just another procurement item—they’re essential tools that impact how clinical teams operate every day. The right carts improve efficiency, support workflows, and make a tangible difference in patient care. Yet, too often, they’re approached with a one-size-fits-all mentality, leading to frustration down the line.

We take a different approach. Our role extends far beyond simply supplying carts. We ensure that each one is purpose-built for its environment, designed with the end-user in mind, and integrated seamlessly into your project. While many suppliers claim they will configure carts to staff preferences, scaling that to an entire project is a different challenge altogether—and that’s where we excel.

Our process is built on three key principles:

  • Every stakeholder matters. That includes those using the carts, loading them, and unloading them. There’s no reason every single cart shouldn’t be configured properly for its intended use. Clinical teams deserve that.
  • You’re not locked into a brand. Standardizing on one brand for discounts is understandable, but we take a different approach. On a project, we are the brand. We answer to you, and we structure pricing based on the project’s total scope.
  • We take work off your plate. Time is your most valuable resource. We handle the details, freeing up your time while ensuring a seamless, professional process from design to delivery and beyond.

Here’s how we do it:

Discovery

We start by reviewing equipment spreadsheets to get a sense of department needs and cart applications. Then, we meet with each department—usually for an hour or two—with key stakeholders who understand their teams’ needs and can make decisions.

During these meetings, we assess current carts, noting which will be relocated. We document everything, including photos for reference. Sometimes, carts marked for relocation aren’t suitable for the new setup, and vice versa. We also gather insights on what staff like and dislike about their current carts, ensuring future solutions are built for longevity, adaptability, and growth.

Sourcing

From there, we develop multiple brand and model recommendations based on real needs, explaining differences without bias. Configuring a cart isn’t just about height and drawer count. There are many details that impact functionality. Dealers with hundreds of product lines can’t match our level of expertise. We know the right questions to ask, ensuring the best fit—without sales tactics or upselling. We also consider procurement and redevelopment team preferences, including brand standardization when required.

We also use design software to confirm that the carts will fit in their designated spaces before finalizing selections. This ensures proper integration into the workflow, preventing last-minute surprises and guaranteeing that each cart fits exactly where it needs to be.

This is about solutions, not sales.

Revisions

Stakeholder feedback drives revisions. We refine designs until departments are ready for final sign-off. Our cart configuration tools allow for real-time changes online, making the process efficient and transparent.

We track every communication and file with specialized project management software. Whether organizing at a department level or down to individual carts, we eliminate the need to juggle complex spreadsheets or sift through endless email threads. Every meeting, email, and file is tracked in a Kanban-style layout, giving quick access to information and full visibility into each cart’s progress.

Nothing falls through the cracks.

Delivery

Our work doesn’t stop once an order is placed. We coordinate seamless delivery to ensure carts arrive at their final locations—without interruption, damage, or delay.

Most clinical carts ship ready for use. When assembly is necessary, we’re capable of handling it ourselves or coordinate with third-party providers if the hospital has contracted one. In addition to making ourselves available, contracted assembly teams are provided with technical drawings that show exactly what each cart should look like in its final form, along with detailed assembly instructions. These include specifications down to the finest detail such as precise shelf spacing and the exact locations shelves may need to be installed at on a wire shelf unit.

From planning to placement, we make sure every cart is exactly where it needs to be, ready to go.

Carts may not always be top of mind in a redevelopment project, but they play a crucial role in clinical efficiency. Our approach ensures every cart is designed with purpose, sourced without brand restrictions, and delivered seamlessly. We take the complexity off your plate, providing a level of expertise and service that standard suppliers simply can’t match. When every cart is exactly where it needs to be and built for the people using it, the difference is clear.
